1 Week Getaway

Hey readers! As I said on my last post that I’ll be free to blog again on the last week of May, here it is. I’m back! So I’ll start the talking. Last April 11-17 I went to my father’s relatives on Meycauayan, Bulacan. It was actually my first time to spend a week-long vacation without my mom, aunt and sister because they are my usual companions when I travel far. If you’re wondering why I didn’t mention my dad, he’s in abroad and he only go home for vacation after every 2 years. So let’s move forward. At first I don’t really know if I should go with them or not simply because I don’t have someone who will accompany me to go to Cubao where I will be waiting for my relatives to pick me up. But there’s no turning back because I already told my cousin that I’m in. I’ll go join them. So without full knowledge about commuting around Manila, I went there alone. Yes. You read it right. I am just 16 years old and I survived commuting from Calamba, Laguna to Cubao without any companion. I only have Google Maps with me that time. I am really nervous because I’m a bit pessimist when I’m commuting. Luckily, nothing bad happened. I showed up at our meeting place safe and sound. I arrived there at approximately 9:10 in the morning and I waited for them for 1 hour. After they picked me up we went to Jollibee to eat lunch then went straight to my aunt’s condo unit. Then we decided to swim for a bit since it’s really hot that time. We forgot to take selfies so here’s some of the photos I took.

At the afternoon we went home in Meycauayan. At the next day, Apr 12, it’s just a normal day, I talked to my closest cousin the whole day. The night came and we were just informed that tomorrow (Apr 13) morning we were expected to leave and go to Pangasinan for my aunt’s car blessing then proceed to La Union afterwards. So after hearing that announcement, we fixed all the things we needed to bring for our 3 day stay in La Union.

We reached the Our Lady of Manaoag Church at 9 am in the morning. We were lucky because we arrived just in the moment when the priests were already blessing the cars in there. After the blessing we proceed to La Union but we stopped for a bit just to eat breakfast at the side of the road. Then off we go. While we were on the way to La Union we were welcomed by the heavy traffic. We arrived in La Union at 3 PM. Yes, 3 PM. Some of us haven’t eaten lunch. Thanks to our uncle for driving through Jollibee so we didn’t starve ourselves. Upon arriving at our relative’s house, we played UNO. The loser will get a lipstick stain in the face. So here’s the results.

After playing, we decided to hit the beach. It was already 5 PM that time. Look how beautiful La Union sunset is.

Of course it wouldn’t been complete without a photo of me at the beach.

We just swam ourselves through the whole afternoon and waited for the sun to go down. On the next day, we visited the beach again. I’m amazed because the waves were so big. Mind you, it was only 9 AM that time.

In the afternoon, we found ourselves bored again so we went to the beach front.

And that’s me admiring the whole view.

At night, they decided to have a bonfire after eating at the beach front. So here we go, sitting by the beach, enjoying the peaceful ambiance, and looking at the stars. I am grateful for that one chill night.

On the next day, Apr 15, we decided to visit Baguio since it’s just nearby La Union. So off we go. We reached Baguio at 12 in the afternoon so we ate lunch at Dencios that is located inside the Mile-Hi Center at Camp John Hay.

After eating, we strolled around then our next stop was the Baguio’s Public Market. We just bought pasalubongs and off to La Union again. Since we were expected to leave at 6 PM, for the last time, we hit the beach and took a couple of photos again.

That’s me running away from my responsibilities. Hahaha!

All in all, I really enjoyed that stay with my relatives. I will look forward to more adventures with them.

10 Movies That Will Spice Up Your ‘Kilig’ Feeling

Have I ever told you guys that I love watching Drama/Romance/Comedy movies? Now that I’ve mentioned it to you, I’ll share my top 10 Drama/Rom-Com movies of all time. So let’s start!

10. When Harry Met Sally (Drama/Romance)

In 1977, college graduates Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) and Sally Albright (Meg Ryan) share a contentious car ride from Chicago to New York, during which they argue about whether men and women can ever truly be strictly platonic friends. Ten years later, Harry and Sally meet again at a bookstore, and in the company of their respective best friends, Jess (Bruno Kirby) and Marie (Carrie Fisher), attempt to stay friends without sex becoming an issue between them. (Description from the web)

This scene made me laugh because of Sally!

I rate this movie 7/10.

9. Walking On Sunshine (Comedy/Drama/Romance)

A young woman (Annabel Scholey) prepares for her wedding in Italy, unaware that her fiance (Greg Wise) and sister (Hannah Arterton) were once deeply in love. (Description from the web)

I rate this movie 7/10.

8. Just Go With It (Romance/Comedy)

His heart recently broken, plastic surgeon Danny Maccabee (Adam Sandler) pretends to be married so he can enjoy future dates with no strings attached. His web of lies works, but when he meets Palmer (Brooklyn Decker) – the gal of his dreams – she resists involvement. Instead of coming clean, Danny enlists Katherine (Jennifer Aniston), his assistant, to pose as his soon-to-be-ex-wife. Instead of solving Danny’s problems, the lies create more trouble. (Description from the web)

This scene is where they had the coconut tie breaker. Oh, I just love the movies of Adam Sandler.

I give this movie a 7/10.

7. Definitely, Maybe (Drama/Romance)

Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds), a thirtysomething Manhattanite, is in the middle of divorce proceedings when his young daughter (Abigail Breslin) asks him about his life before marriage, including how he met and fell in love with her mother. Will flashes back to 1992 and recounts his romances with three women, changing their names so that his daughter must guess which one became his wife. (Description from the web.)

The part where Will is explaining to April why he kept the book. This movie gives me such feels!

 I give this movie 8/10.

6. The Ugly Truth (Romance/Comedy)

Abby Richter (Katherine Heigl) is a lovelorn TV producer who, despite a long and arduous search for the perfect mate, is hopelessly single. The battle of the sexes heats up when her employers team her up with Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler), an opinionated TV celebrity who plans to put Abby through the wringer to prove his own theories about what makes men and women tick. (Description from the web.)

On point Mike, on point!

I rate this movie 8/10.

5. Blended (Romance/Comedy)

Recently divorced mom Lauren (Drew Barrymore) and widowed dad Jim (Adam Sandler) let their friends push them into a blind date, which goes disastrously wrong. Unsurprisingly, neither wants to see the other ever again. However, fate intervenes when both Jim and Lauren, unbeknown to each other, purchase one-half of the same vacation package at a South African resort; they and their children are forced to share the same suite and participate in a slew of family activities together. (Description from the web.)

4. The Proposal (Drama/Romance)

Style: "9142_LA_Disney_The_Proposal_Light_Test_01"

Faced with deportation to her native Canada, high-powered book editor Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) says she’s engaged to marry Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds), her hapless assistant. Andrew agrees to the charade, but imposes a few conditions of his own, including flying to Alaska to meet his eccentric family. With a suspicious immigration official always lurking nearby, Margaret and Andrew must stick to their wedding plan despite numerous mishaps. (Description from the web.)

The part where Margaret is proposing to Andrew, this scene made me laugh!

I give this movie 8/10.

3. How to Lose a Guy in 10 days (Romance/Comedy)

An advice columnist, Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson), tries pushing the boundaries of what she can write about in her new piece about how to get a man to leave you in 10 days. Her editor, Lana (Bebe Neuwirth), loves it, and Andie goes off to find a man she can use for the experiment. Enter executive Ben Berry (Matthew McConaughey), who is so confident in his romantic prowess that he thinks he can make any woman fall in love with him in 10 days. When Andie and Ben meet, their plans backfire. (Description from the web.)

The scene after they met each other and being confident that they will win/pursue what their bosses want.

I give this movie 8/10.

2. 50 First Dates (Romance/Comedy)

Playboy vet Henry sets his heart on romancing Lucy, but she has short-term memory loss; she can’t remember anything that happened the day before. So every morning, Henry has to woo her again. Her friends and family are very protective, and Henry must convince them that he’s in it for love. (Description from the web.)

The scene where they first met. I so admire Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler’s movies!

I rate this movie 9/10.

And the top movie on my list is (drum roll please) no other than…

1. 10 Things I Hate About You (Drama)

Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles) is beautiful, smart and quite abrasive to most of her fellow teens, meaning that she doesn’t attract many boys. Unfortunately for her younger sister, Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), house rules say that she can’t date until Kat has a boyfriend, so strings are pulled to set the dour damsel up for a romance. Soon Kat crosses paths with handsome new arrival Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger). Will Kat let her guard down enough to fall for the effortlessly charming Patrick? (Description from the web.)

This scene will really hit you right in the feels.

I rate this movie 9/10.

So that’s it guys! I hope you’ll watch all of the movies I listed and enjoy!

Every summer vacation from hell a.k.a. school, I’m hoping for a busy, fun, and challenging summer. Where I can go to different places, to try new things and to meet new people, but here I am blogging about my desire to travel to new places. If you’re friends with me, there you can always find me talking regarding my traveling goals. I am always saying to my friends that before I’ll leave Philippines I must explore the whole of it because I believe that this paradise has a lot to offer. In fact, I am already planning my debut, even though I’m still 16 (turning 17 this September). On my father’s side, every cousin of mine who reached 18 celebrated their 18th birthday the traditional way. Where cotillion happens, 18 roses, 18 etc. And I don’t want to join the bandwagon, hahahaha, because that’s not my thing. To practice dances, to sit for 3-4 hours waiting for my make up and doing nothing, wearing too much formal clothes like gown. My passion is to travel, to explore new places, to be adventurous and to capture photographs from my adventures. Actually I want my debut to be spent in Batanes. I want to explore Batanes for a week. I’m still not sure if I want to have a companion or I’ll explore it all by myself. I am excited for this because I already told my plan to my father and I think he agreed (?) hahahaha but I’m sure he’ll agree to this because I’m proving my point why I should go to Batanes instead to have a traditional party. You see, the title of this blog post is ‘Longing for new adventures’ yet I inserted my plan for my debut. Hahahaha, you can’t blame me, I love traveling! I mean, who would not love too, right?
